Southampton registers ‘record-breaking’ year for cruise passengers

The Port of Southampton has reported it welcomed more than three million passengers last year.

This surpassed 2023 levels and reinforced Southampton’s position as “Northern Europe’s top cruise turnaround port and the UK’s leading port”.

The Port of Southampton also recorded a 50% increase in cruise ships using Southampton’s shore power facilities, enabling zero emissions while at berth.

Rebekah Keeler, ABP cruise strategy manager, said: “We are proud to have the capability, infrastructure, and partnerships to facilitate sustainable cruise growth and over £1 billion in associated economic value.

“We continue to see global cruise sector growth, and Southampton leads the way for the UK and Northern Europe.”
