Comment: Have you got Star quality?

When I joined Travel Weekly six years ago, we made a conscious decision that we didn’t want to just write for our readers but also to include them in everything we do – including in the magazine, wherever possible or appropriate.

This objective prompted us to launch Cover Stars – a competition to find a different agent to grace the cover of Travel Weekly each month, following a glamorous makeover and professional photoshoot.

In the first year, we took our winners to Bicester Village to dress up in designer clothes for their moment in the spotlight. Since then, we’ve taken groups of 12 to New York, Orlando, California and Massachusetts, and given them film-star makeovers and outfits to keep worth thousands of dollars.

Sixty agents in total have so far had the Travel Weekly star treatment – and we’re not stopping yet.

This year, in partnership with Virgin Holidays and Simon Shopping Destinations, which are both supporting Cover Stars for the fifth year running, we’ll be flying our Cover Stars to Miami in November!

There they will choose their outfits, before boarding our headline sponsor Norwegian Cruise Line’s newest ship Norwegian Escape, bound for the Bahamas.

Just imagine how incredible the backdrops for the Cover Star shots are going to be!

The ship launches in October, so our winners will be some of the first to experience it.

It will truly be the trip of a lifetime for 12 lucky agents – but giving our readers these kinds of opportunities is one of the things we love doing best.
