BA adds Azores flights next summer

British Airways is adding the Azores to its Heathrow short-haul network from next summer.

The islands of São Miguel and Terceira will be served weekly.

Flights to São Miguel operate from July 2 until September 3 and Terceira from July 10 until August 28.

The airline will deploy an Airbus 320 to both destinations, with up to 180 seats.

Return flights to the Portuguese archipelago lead in at £79 in economy and £208 in business class.

BA network and alliances director Neil Chernoff said: “After a difficult 18 months, it’s fantastic to be in a position to launch two new routes next summer from Heathrow.

“These two islands in the Azores will be the perfect addition to our network, offering more choice in one of the most popular regions in Europe for British sunseekers.”
