Windstar is preparing its flagship Wind Surf for the first phase of “extensive renovations” in November.
The multi-million-dollar project includes a full redesign of many public spaces with new layouts, furniture, wall and floor coverings, lighting and custom art, plus Premium Suite improvements and interactive TVs being added to all guest staterooms.
The Lobby, boutique, Compass Rose bar, Amphora main dining room, pool deck (new design pictured) and pool bar are the main public areas being focused on in this phase of renovations.
These changes will be made in Cadiz, Spain, in time for Wind Surf to sail on a seven-day Classic Caribbean voyage on December 21, 2024, followed by a seven-day Beach Fun & Sun Cruise on December 28, 2024, and a 55-day Grand Caribbean Adventure on February 28, 2025.
Windstar chief operating officer Stijn Creupelandt said: “Wind Surf has become a beloved choice among our long-time Windstar guests.
“Many of our guests return each year to sail on this yacht, and we’re thrilled to offer a refreshed atmosphere and updated technology on board to enhance their comfort.
“I can’t wait to personally welcome our guests during the holiday sailing and celebrate this exciting transformation in a festive setting.”
All three of the line’s Wind Class ships, Wind Surf, Wind Star and Wind Spirit, are having redesigns as part of a multi-year initiative.
Wind Star has already completed phase one of its improvements, with phase two scheduled for April 2026.
Wind Spirit’s phase one refurbishments are planned for April 2026, and phase two in March 2027.
