Midconsort MD to focus on technology
MIDCONSORT’S new managing director Mike Gates has earmarked expanding the consortium’s membership and bringing in new technology as priorities of his new job.Gates, a travel industry consultant who has worked with various hotel and travel companies, replaces chief executive Sue Foxall who stepped down earlier this year (Travel Weekly March 13).
Although Gates has a different title to his predecessor, the job role remains the same. However, the Midconsort board has asked him to concentrate more heavily on the business aspects of the association.
“If the consortium is running well and is of value to our members, then word of mouth will bring other people in.”
