n elbow beach reopens after two years
Elbow Beach resort has reopened following atwo-year $42m renovation. There are 138 rooms in the hotel building and a further 118 recently refurbished rooms are available in single-storey cottages in the grounds.
n longshot drops island golf packages
Longshot Golf is axing its Bermuda packages next year after difficulties with local course owners. Product manager Sean Noble said: “Golf courses in Bermuda are no longer offering discount rates to tour operators. Some are even now charging forpre-booking.” Longshot has been in the Bermuda market for seven years but said that severing itslong-term relationship with the Belmont Golf Club and refurbishments at Castle Harbour had impacted on what it offers.
n first eco-resort to open in july 2000
Bermuda has announced its first eco-resort development, called Daniel’s Head Village, scheduled to open in July. The 94 luxury tented cottages will have an ocean view, while some will be on stilts over the water with a see-through floor to view the sea life below. Ecologically sensitive, the resort is powered by solar and wind-generated energy. Prices will start from $115 per cottage per night.
n prestige offers £678 package for march
Prestige is offering Bermuda packages ranging from £1,216 for aself-catering property in June to between £3,500 and £4,000 for a 14-night break at the Cambridge Beaches cottage colony in summer, including flights.

Bermuda Tourism launches www.bermudatourism.com this autumn. It will provide users with details of its specialist agents once they have keyed in a search for a holiday by activity type.
