Alliances get extra cash
Alliances get extra cash
AGENTS in consortiums earn between £20,000 and £80,000 more than those who remain totally independent, according to a study. But to fulfil the full potential of alliances, members must be prepared to commit to group initiatives.
Travel Training Company head of sales and marketing Peter Holyoake said the alliance must differentiate itself to have a significant impact in the market and must add value to its members’ businesses.
The three-point plan for a successful alliance emerged during a survey with managing directors, chief executives and chairmen, who between them represent 3,000 retailers.
Speaking at the Advantage conference, Holyoake said: “Estimates of the bottom-line benefit to travel agency alliance members ranged from anextra £20,000 to £80,000 and all this for a fee of around £600.”
