Cosmos kicks us in the teeth
After 10 years of consulting I would have to say that I agree with the majority of retail travel agents – why bother?I spent the good part of a day finding the perfect holiday for one of our loyal clients.
The tour operator, Cosmos, was loyal too – or so I thought.
By the end of the day, my client agreed that the holiday I’d chosen was the one for them and they said that they would come in first thing the next day to confirm.
That evening, my client phoned Cosmos direct to ask a simple question she had forgotten to ask me, which was duly answered.
However, she was also advised that if she made the reservation direct through them, she would save 15%.
What are us poor agents supposed to do?
Of course with a saving of £150 who did she end up booking with – Cosmos, the company that needed us to push their product when they first started but ended up kicking us in the teeth for doing so.

n Editor’s note: Travel Weekly would welcome a response from Cosmos.
