More than seven out of 10 Advantage Travel Centre members actively compete with the multiples, a survey has shown. Nearly 75% said they hold a database of customers, while the majority realise the need to provide an out-of-hours service.

Agents should tell clients what to expect from an airport to avoid what has been dubbed the black-hole experience. Manchester Airport director of business development Bill Savage said providing a map to the airport, the terminal number and who the ground handler is will ease anxiety.


n digital tv rated as most powerful media


More UK homes will have access to digital TV than the Internet by the end of next year, Telewest head of travel business Keith Webber told delegates. “It will be the most powerful media,” he said.
