Hotel group completes refurbishment
HERITAGE Hotels has completed the refurbishment of two of its hotels, The Swan in Lavenham, Suffolk, and the Berystede Hotel in Ascot.A £2m three-month investment programme in The Swan has involved a complete transformation by interior designer Ann Boyd.
The 51-room hotel has been renovated to reflect its history, which dates back to 1425.
Fifteenth-century wall paintings, uncovered by builders 15 years ago, have also been restored.
Following the refurbishment of its meetings and conference suites, the hotel is now offering the Heritage Hotels Retreat package.
This deal is aimed at small groups holding think-tank seminars or board meetings.
The package has also been introduced at the Berystede Hotel following a £1.5m investment in its meetings and conference facilities.
Two boardrooms and five business suites have been kitted out with the latest information technology and audio-visual equipment.
There are a total of 44 Heritage Hotels across England and Scotland, including the well known Compleat Angler in Marlow.
Part of the Forte Hotel Group, the hotels are based in rural and ancient city locations and their character reflects local surroundings.
