BAH offers tailor-made Florida itinerary option

Report by STEVE JONES

HOLIDAYMAKERS have been given the freedom to build their own itineraries to Florida with British Airways Holidays, as it looks to end its inflexible seven and 14-night packages.

The move to a more tailor-made product comes after research showed three out of four customers change elements of a regular package to Florida.

The new approach is featured in its 2000/2001 brochure.

North America product manager Nicki Herrington said: “We have been able to make changes in the past but presenting the product in a modular fashion makes it far easier.

“We have taken apart the package, pricing flights, car hire and accommodation separately.

“Customers can now go for any duration and are not limited to just seven or 14 nights.”

She said the modular approach will appeal to repeat visitors looking for more than just Disney and International Drive.

“First-time visitors will probably still opt for the traditional itinerary but the self-packaging option will entice repeat visitors to book with us,” said Herrington.

New product in the Florida programme includes two villas in Orlando – the Ridgewood Lakes Golf and Country Club and Lake View Homes. On the Gulf Coast, new self-catering apartments have been introduced in St Petersburg and Clearwater.

BAH has also signed an exclusive deal with the new Marriott Village at Lake Buena Vista. The complex features three properties along with shops, kids clubs and an ice-skating rink.

Prices for flights start at £329 for adults and £199 for children aged up to 11 years. Accommodation starts at £25 per person per night.
