KLM and Alitalia draw up timescale for ceasing alliance

KLM and Alitalia have set a deadline for the ending of their alliance in the UK.

By August 31, the pair will terminate codesharing between UK airports, the Netherlands and Italy; use of each others airport lounges will end; joint check-in desks will be dismantled; and merged schedules will be separated.

The airlines said either themselves or agents will contact any passengers affected by the alliance split if tickets need to be changed.

The airlines are currently reverting to individual sales teams in the UK. Agents wanting more information on the demerger between the carriers should log on to: www.klm-alitalia.com
