n airlines join forces for on-line web agencyQantas, Singapore Airlines and Cathay Pacific are to unveil a joint on-line travel agency. The travel portal is thought to have cost $100m. Other Far East and Australasian carriers including Air New Zealand and Ansett Australia are expected to join. The move follows BA and 10 other European airlines setting up their own Web travel agency.
n Abta elects lunn to board position
Guild of Business Travel Agents chairman Don Lunn has been elected to the ABTA board to fill the seat left vacant by Stephen Bath. It followed Bath’s election to president of the association. Lunn is chairman of London-based Ayscough Travel in addition to his role at the GBTA.

Holiday Autos has signed a three-year contract to exclusively supply car rental for Virgin Sun in all the operator’s 20 destinations.
n advantage appoints gage to new role
Advantage Travel Centres has appointed Norman Gage as director of business travel. His position as business travel development manager has been filled by Brian Challis, previously one of the consortium’s sales development managers. Advantage has also confirmed it will co-opt Ickenham Travel managing director Peter Reglar onto its main board.
