Melbourne: Tourism Victoria to offer tourists Web bookings
Book and pay service to be offered on-line
TOURISM Victoria has launched a Web site which is planning to offer visitors the chance to book and pay for accommodation, tours, attractions and events on-line.The site, which can be found at www.visitvictoria.com, will offer access to regional and specialist tourism sites.
At the moment, Tourism Victoria’s site offers 6,000 pages of information on Victoria. The state tourist board will launch a major initiative later on this year to get as many private-sector companies on-line as possible.
The tourist board’s chief executive Jeff Floyd said: “Tourism Victoria is putting together a cost-effective package for all Victoria product to take advantage of Tourism Victoria’s on-line presence.”
The tourist board also has a new industry advice site at www.tourismvictoria.com.au.
