n Hilton plans moscow property for 2001


The 218-room Hilton Bolshoi Moscow is on target to open in spring 2001. The five-star hotel, next to the Bolshoi theatre, will have two executive floors, an Armenian restaurant and a Turkish bath.


n ramblers holidays offers 7-night package


Ramblers Holidays is offering a seven-night package to St Petersburg with British Airways from Gatwick, priced from £538. Half-board accommodation is in the three-star Hotel Sovetskaya.


n explore worldwide treasures the tsars


Explore Worldwide’s 14-night Treasures of the Tsars tour spends 10 days in Russia and visits the Golden Ring towns of Zagorsk, Vladimir, Suzdal, Kostroma and Yaroslavl, plus Moscow and St Petersburg. It is priced from £945.


n bales adds georgia and armenia itinerary


Bales is introducing Georgia and Armenia to its 2001 brochure due out on August 1. The 14-day itinerary will include visits to Georgia’s capital Tbilisi, the old capital Mtskheta, the ancient city of Kutaisi and the Armenian capital Yerevan. The price – to be confirmed – includes British Airways flights into Tbilisi.


n Transaero makes it to moscow daily


Transaero has increased the frequency on its newly launched Heathrow-Moscow service. The service will now run daily. Flights by B737-700 depart Heathrow at 10.05pm, returning at 1.20pm; return fares start at £236.


n radisson sas royal adds 166 rooms


The Radisson SAS Royal Hotel will add 166 rooms to St Petersburg’s five-star hotel accommodation when it opens in January 2001. Part of the building dates from 1765.


n Regent holidays goes to kaliningrad


Regent Holidays is offering the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad in its new Regent’s Cities programme. A three-night bed and breakfast package, with flights by SAS, costs from £384.
