Style Holidays focuses on resort properties

Report by STEVEJONES

VILLA specialist Style Holidays has launched its Spanish 2001 programme with a focus on resort properties on the Costa Blanca.

The Thomas Cook-owned operator has added 23 properties and is targeting passenger growth of 25%.

Marketing manager John Hayes said demand was growing for villas in resort areas.

“Spain is becoming extremely popular as a villa destination, with the most significant increases in sales coming from the Costa Blanca,” said Hayes. “It has taken a while for it catch on. Resorts are not considered big areas for the villa market but we see this as being an opportunity for growth.”

Properties have been added in Denia, Calpe, Moraira and the less well known resorts of Jalon and Albir. All villas have a car, which is included in the price.

The planned opening of the new Terra Mitica theme park is likely to add to further growth, he added. Style will pre-sell tickets when the park opens.

Also new in the programme is its first kids’ club at the Rayma Apartments in Minorca which will operate five days a week between May and September. Children aged four-12 years qualify.

“Kids’ clubs have proved particularly popular in the Algarve and we felt there was an ideal opportunity to expand into Minorca,” said Hayes.

Prices start from £169 per person, based on six people sharing a three-bedroom apartment in Minorca.

Offers include free child places on selected dates on the Costa Blanca, Minorca and Majorca.

Meanwhile, the operator has reduced prices to Cyprus during June and July in a move to stimulate bookings.

Among the deals are savings of £153 per person for one-bedroom apartments at the Euronest Apartments in Coral Bay, Cyprus. Prices start from £229 per person for seven nights.
