Santorini to feature in summer 2001 brochure

Report by HELENCONWAY

FIRST Choice premium brand Sovereign has added the Greek island of Santorini and reintroduced Tunisia in its 2001 Summer Sunshine brochure.

The operator has also expanded the accommodation options in Majorca by adding a selection of fincas – small, traditional country house hotels. Halkidiki is also new to the Villas and Apartments brochure which has also been launched.

The two brochures are the first to be produced by Sovereign’s dedicated division which is headed by managing director Philippa Harris.

According to Harris, there are no plans to make any radical changes to the brand though the operator hopes to undertake more trade and consumer research to assess the opportunities for future developments.

On the 2001 launches, Harris said the move to reintroduce Tunisia was prompted by the destination’s success in the operator’s winter programme

Prices in the programme lead in at £305 per person for seven nights at the four-crown Galeon apartments in Majorca, based on six people sharing.

Sovereign’s 2001 Cruise and Stay and Worldwide brochures will be launched in mid-July.
