Swansea Cork Ferries looks to boost bookings with saver fares
SWANSEA Cork Ferries has launched a Sunday Saver fare for the summer for the first time to stimulate demand in a slow year. The saver fare cuts the standard return fare for a car, driver and up to four passengers from either £330 or £378, depending on the day of departure, to £279 for travel between July 12 and September 4.
To qualify, passengers have to travel on a Sunday and return on a Monday. Marketing director Alec Maguire said the market is very difficult this year, with the shortest bookings’ lead-in time on record.
“I believe all the ferry operators to Ireland are struggling to meet last year’s figures,” he added. “We are getting there, but it is all coming in very late.”
