AMERICANExpress figures have shown that transatlantic business-class fares are significantly more expensive from Heathrow than in Europe.
In its European Corporate Travel Index, Amex has found that Heathrow-New York averages £3,234. This compares with £2,217 from Paris and £2,086 from Frankfurt.
Amex found that UK first and business-class fares have risen by 9% over two years.
