n capacity added on inghams’ ski routes


Inghams is adding charter flights from Manchester to its ski resorts in Finland next winter. The operator, which offers the resorts of Levi and Yllas exclusively in the UK, is also extending the season fromGatwick to March 25.The last flight back to the UK last winter was on March 5. Inghams said bookings are up on last year.


n scantours offers father christmas deals


Scantours is offering a new four-day Father Christmas break in Yllas or Sinetta in Finnish Lapland this winter. The full-board hotel holidays lead in at £835 per adult and £595 per child which includes a snowmobile safari, a husky safari and a visit to Santa in his cabin. There will be two departures before Christmas, starting December 14 and two after.


n ncv orders ships to meet rising demand


The Norwegian Coastal Voyage, which sails from Bergen to Kirkenes, has placed a multi-million-pound order for two new ships for delivery in March and April 2002. Each will be 17,500 tons – its biggest ships now are 13,000 tons – to provide more cabins. NCV said it has a shortage of capacity from April to September.


n neilson features Åre for first time


Neilson is featuring the Swedish ski resort of Åre for the first time this winter. The operator is offering three hotels and three self-catering apartments, with a lead-in price of £450 per person for seven nights’self-catering at the Quality Renes Apartments.


n two new hotels to open in stockholm


Two new hotels will open in Stockholm in January. The Nordic Light andNordic Sea, both on the island of Vasagatan, will have 367 and 175 rooms respectively. Nordic Sea will also have conference capacity for400 delegates.
