Is Go’s fare playing fair?
I have no wish to prolong this correspondence but I would like you to refer to my letter (Travel Weekly June 26) in respect of my contention that Go Airlines are employing “barrow-boy tactics”.You then published a reply from David Magliano, marketing director of Go (Travel Weekly July 10).
He stated that his reservations agents are “trained to listen to determine our customers needs and offer the fare type they think best meets those needs…this is usually but not always the lowest fare”.
Mr Magliano is being disingenuous and perplexing in the extreme.
I have ascertained today that their reservation agents have a daily target, on their wall, based on revenue, not bums on seats and the agents will receive a bonus if these targets are met or exceeded.
A transparent fare structure?Ithink not.
