Taylor eyes Far East for Paramount gains
THE PARAMOUNT Group of Hotels’ new director of sales David Taylor wants to double the group’s portfolio of properties in the next three years and has earmarked the Far East as a potential market for expansion.Taylor spent five years as director of travel trade sales at the Hilton Group before taking up his new position earlier this month and hopes to align previous clients with Paramount.
He is already having discussions with several firms on boosting the incentive market.
The Paramount Group of Hotels currently has a portfolio of 16 hotels, although Taylor says medium-term plans are to increase that figure to 30-35 hotels in the next three years.
The group’s latest acquisition is The Oxford Hotel recently bought from Queens Moat Houses for £11.25m.
The three-star hotel is to be upgraded to four-star deluxe in a £7.5m refit, adding to the £13.5m already being pumped into the other Paramount Group’s other country, city and coastal properties.
