HolidayWorld boosts in-store Web facilities
GOING Places is offering customers free Internet access at its third HolidayWorld superstore which opened last week in Birstall, Leeds. The store is the first in the HolidayWorld portfolio to offer customers InfoWorld, a designated area with four PCs linked to sites of selected companies including Airtours, Disney, Lonely Planet, Yahoo Weather, UK Airports and Time Out.
Customers will also be able to see specialist counter staff in separate zones, such as cruising, Florida and long haul, and check late availability and HolidayWorld’s brochures on interactive screens.
HolidayWorld’s head of sales David Wilkinson said: “The whole store is based on movement. Service desks are placed below sails, there’s a train running through the store carrying our brochures and there are two play areas for customers’ children. There’s a real wow factor when you enter the shop.”
The first Going Places HolidayWorld retail outlet opened in York on August 5 last year. Wilkinson said future HolidayWorld stores would be expanded to regions in the south as soon as sites became available.
Looking ahead: Going Places is looking for more HolidayWorld sites
