Brymon trials northern menu
BRYMON Airways is trialling a range of regional in-flight meals in an attempt to bring some local flavour to its menu.Passengers taking the 6.45pm weekday flight from Newcastle to Belfast City Airport will be offered traditional Northumbrian food such as beef in brown ale with a cobbler pastry top, served with mashed potato and fresh leeks. The trial will last a few weeks before any decisions to continue with the menu are made.
A Brymon Airways spokeswoman said: “It will be up to cabin crews to find out how much the passengers like the food. If it is popular, then the menu will stay or be changed according to requests.”
The regional airline is also expected to trial a Taste of Northern Ireland later this month. A new in-flight menu offering passengers a selection of breakfast foods such as soda bread and potato cakes, will be served on flights from Belfast City back to Newcastle.
The spokeswoman added that regional cuisine on the Bristol to Frankfurt routes could be introduced, with German cuisine or food from the Bristol area.
