Thomson claims 6% increase on cruise prices
THOMSON’s cruise general manager David Selby claims the company is going against an industry trend towards softer prices this year. He said that a reduction in ship capacity has led to a 6% increase – worth £70 on average – in its actual selling prices this year. The company is currently chartering only two ships, Emerald and Topaz, rather than the four vessels it operated last year. It also sells capacity on Voyager of the Seas and SuperStar Gemini.Thomson’s claims come at a time when rivals are reporting softer pricing.
