A&K brochure targets more Orient resorts
Asia’s wealth of island getaways that are home to a number of top-class resorts are heavily featured in Abercrombie and Kent’s new Islands and Retreats brochure, aimed at the independent traveller.The new 2001 brochure features 32 countries and 103 hotels, with the Furama resort Danang in Vietnam introduced to the dedicated Far Eastern portfolio.
A&K head of planning Stuart Douglass-Lee said: “Vietnam is relatively undiscovered in terms of beach product.
“We are definitely seeing a lot more interest in Vietnam and Cambodia but in the main, the Far East does well because of the quality of its accommodation.
“Prices are very reasonable for a top-end product.”
Douglass-Lee also cites spa product as a key factor in wooing clients to the destination and pointed out that honeymooners are easily swung in favour of Asia, when their first choice, often different islands in the Caribbean, proves too expensive.
