Fam trips help Caribtours to boost bookings
Caribbean specialist Caribtours has been reaping the benefits of a series of educationals held both this year and last, with hotels visited by agents experiencing soaring bookings.Caribtours managing director Catherine Leech said: “It is too early to see the precise impact of this year’s fam trips on sales but we have already had bookings from agents for host hotels since returning from the June/July educationals thissummer.”
For example, Turtle Beach in Barbados has received a 469% increase in business as a direct result of last year’s educational, while the Coral Reef Club in Barbados enjoyed a 55% increase; Barbados as a whole rose by 27%for the operator over the previous year. Exact figures are not available.
“Turtle Beach is now Caribtours’ best-selling property,” said Leech.
“It has seen such a massive increase in business. It has outstanding facilities for kids, yet it has retained a stylish and very adult appeal.”
Leech said bookings to Jumby Bay and Cap Juluca in Antigua, which will offer spa treatments for the first time when it reopens in November, also look strong.
Cap Juluca prices start at £1,820 for seven nights’ bed and breakfast. Sales to Antigua as a whole have gone up by 9%.
