Somak eyes upmarket sales with new brochure
Report by ANDREAPERRY
SOMAK Holidays has launched a brochure offering a greater choice of tailor-made itineraries for the top end of the market. The revamped brochure is in complete contrast to the Go Somak brochures introduced earlier this year which featured top-selling ‘off-the-peg’ holidays.
The selection of luxury holidays are to the operator’s core destinations: Africa, the Indian Ocean, India and the Middle East.
The brochure includes the choice of 11 different safaris in Kenya.
Five-night safaris in Kenya are available from £755 per person.
For the first time this year, holidaymakers travelling to Kenya can choose to fly with Kenya Airways or British Airways.
Previously, BA flights were only offered as part of a supplement but now the BA flight prices run alongside other competing airlines.
The new brochure also includes some more unusual option such as the Selous Safari, taking in Tanzania’s unspoilt southern circuit.
In India, Somak has added two new tours enabling travellers to take advantage of combined itineraries with a beach stay in Goa.
As well as being accompanied by a guide, one of the tours includes stays at some of the best properties in India. The six-night trip costs £1,643 per person.
Alternatively, the 11-night Enchanting South, holiday costs £1,462 and takes in lesser-known areas in southern India.
A third brochure is set to be launched next week which will offer what is described by Somak’s managing director Stuart Britton as – the “platinum” product.
“The key features of this new brochure are increased choice and greater flexibility.”
