JMCbrings out Hot Deals guide to replace late offers newspaper

Report by DIANE SMITH

Operator JMCis publishing a new Hot Deals counter guide to replace its late offers newspaper.

JMCwill guarantee the discounts featured in the new guide will be available for the guide’s month-long lifespan.

Hot Deals was launched in response to feedback from JMC’s Selected Travel Agent Regional Supporters panels which said they did not like the late offer newspapers that JMC, Thomson and Airtours started to send out last year.

The operator has also set up an e-mail address for agent feedback, feedback@jmc.com.

But JMC has promised that despite booking systems operating with fluid pricing, the discounts featured in the new monthly guide will be available to agents throughout the guide’s life span.

JMC Holidays UKsales and operations director Denis Wormwell said: “When we researchedthe discount newspapers with agents, they were asking for a bit more explanation – what the deals are about, key selling points.”

Wormwell claims the guide is a promotional tool enabling agents to work out a discount on the brochure price without scanning the whole booking system.

JMC Holidays director of sales Ian Derbyshire said: “Hot Deals is a quick and easy agents’ reference guide to year-round special offers without a brochure that takes up racking space.”

First-edition savings include £100 off the price of selected holidays to Minorca from Bristol or East Midlands or £100 off holidays to Gran Canaria from Glasgow.
