P&0 management team shake-up

P&O CRUISES marketing director Carol Marlow has been given additional responsibility for sales as part of an on-going management shake-up at the company.

Marlow will become sales and marketing director for the P&O Cruises and Princess Cruises brands and a new head of sales will be recruited to assist her.

She will also retain her old role of managing director of Swan Hellenic. But operations director Tony Dyson will be promoted to executive director and assume the day-to-day running of the brand.

Meanwhile, former sales and planning director Nigel Esdale has been given the newly created title of director for yield management and market planning. He will take over some of the jobs previously carried out by commercial and corporate director David Dingle.

Dingle has just been promoted to managing director following the elevation of Gwyn Hughes to a new corporate development role in P&O’s global cruising operation (Travel Weekly July 24).

P&O has just announced a Caribbean trade promotion to accompany the publication of its second-edition 2001 brochure.

The cruiseline will be running weekly prize draws for agents who make Caribbean bookings with P&O or Princess this month. Extra training and Caribbean parties will also be run for agents around the country.
