&#42 tapestry introduces new class on monarch charters

Tapestry has introduced a new two-class service on its Monarch charters from Gatwick. For £90 return, passengers can upgrade to a separate cabin that offers a34-inch seat pitch, instead of the standard 29 inch, a separate check-in service and a choice of six films during the flight. Seat pitch is also approximately 10% larger than a standard charter. While it is not billed as a full first-class service, the upgrade facility will offer greater comfort on what – at four-and-a-half hours – is among one of the longest European short-haul flights.

&#42 abercrombie and kent adds turkey to programme

Abercrombie and Kent has added Turkey to its programme of escorted tours. Its Land of the Sultans overland trip lasts for seven days and leads in from £1,345. Starting with a two-night stay in Istanbul, the tour continues to Cappadocia – the strange valley of eroded rock formations – and onto Ankara, central Anatolia and the Agean Coast at Izmir, before heading back to Istanbul. The price is inclusive scheduled flights and also full-board accommodation, with a maximum of 16 group members.

&#42 jmc upgrades and expands gulet fleet for 2001

JMC has increased its gulet fleet for next year to include standard, deluxe and all-inclusive boats after the breaks proved to be so popular in Dalaman. The standard gulet leads in at £469 per person for full board in October, based on eight adults sharing a four-cabin gulet. The deluxe price of £499 is based on two sharing a larger twin cabin. Gulet cruises can be taken from any resorts served by Bodrum, Dalaman and Antalya airport.
