* British mediterranean launches luxor flight
British Mediterranean Airways is launching a service to Luxor, Egypt, on October 29. The weekly service will leave Heathrow Terminal 4 every Sunday returning from Luxor on Mondaysvia Alexandria. The route will be served by an Airbus 320 and will offer Club World and World Traveller services. The franchise partner of British Airways currently operatesflights to nine destinations in former Soviet states and the Middle East.
* air france plans total smoking ban
Air France is to ban smoking on all of its flights from November 1. The no-smoking policy will be extended to Asian and South American routes and also to African and Middle Eastern flights which continue to operate rows for smokers at present. In addition, the airline is offering nicotine substitutes on all long-haul flights and adedicated physician specialising in smokers’ disorderswill be available for passengers every Saturday morningat its travel clinic, based in Invalides Air Terminal, Parisfrom September 2.
