Shannon links up with CIE Tours for new deals
Shannon Airport has launched a short-break brochure in conjunction with CIETours International.
The Irish airport and the tour operator have monitored the increased popularity in short breaks and holidays to the west of Ireland, which has seen more flights into Shannon.
The 2000/2001 brochure, called Great Value Touring Breaks to Ireland’s Shannon and West Regions, features packages including Great Touring Breaks, a road guide called Go-As-You-Please and a five-day tour called Taste of Ireland.
Shannon Airport market development manager Declan Power said: “A recent survey of retail travel agents in the UK, carriedout by Shannon Airport, identified that CIETours is thesecond most popular choice among agency staff in terms of booking holidays or short-break stays to the west of Ireland.”
AGreat Touring Breaks package starts from £189 per person and includes return flights from any one of 10 UK departure points, car hire and three nights’ accommodation.
CIETours is also offering a free car upgrade for all bookings made between October 1 and March 31 2001.
Packages in the brochure are based on Virgin Express services from Gatwick and Stansted and the Cityflyer Express service from Gatwick.
