* transparency move
Teletext operators and agents will have to reveal their ownership links from next month, according to industry sources. Under the original order, only Teletext pages termed an ‘advertisement’ would have to reveal their links. The Department of Trade and Industry, responsible for the order, was unavailable for comment.
* wales seeks advice
Applause managing director John Wales is seeking legal advice after quitting the ticket agency over a bonus dispute. He is claiming breach of contract. First Call Group, which owns Applause, refused to comment.

First Choice regional sales manager Paula Lacey has joined TV Travel Shop as trading director.
* masson quits post
Brittany Ferries group managing director Jean-Michel Masson has left the company. The ferry operator admitted Masson had differences of opinion with chairman and founder Alexis Gourvennec over future strategy.
* avis revenue rise
Avis has reported 13% increase in revenue to £342.9 million at its interim results for the first six months of this year. Pre-tax profits before exceptional items were up 2.3% to £42.1 million.
* cresta warning
French self-drive specialist Cresta Holidays is advising holidaymakers to postpone trips to France due to the fuel crisis that is bringing the country to a standstill. Cresta head of marketing Jane Williams said: “We are not ringing people up to say don’t go but if they ask us, we say stay at home.”
