Continental’s codeshare will continue

IN YOUR article headlined ‘Have the alliances reached saturation point?’ (Travel Weekly January 10) you speculate that Virgin Atlantic’s decision to form a global partnership with Singapore Airlines is “expected to mean the end of the codeshare deal with Continental”.

I can reassure readers this agreement does not affect the codeshare between Virgin and Continental, whereby both airlines mutually contract for seats on selected flights between the UK and US of the other carrier, providing a greater choice of departures, airports and onward connections for the benefit of each airline’s customers.
