TIPTO elects Downer to deputy chairman’s role

THE Truly Independent Professional Travel Organisation has elected Gold Medal head of sales Gillian Downer as its new deputy chairman.

Downer will work in partnership with John Harding of Travelscene, who has been re-elected chairman of TIPTO.

Downer’s brief is to support Harding and the organisation’s administrative team and to steer TIPTO’s development.

She said: “TIPTO’s first year ended on a very positive note, having worked with 2,500 established TIPTO agents, while continuing to receive interest from potential new members. The next year provides a great opportunity to continue to build on the effects of our hard work.”

Harding added: “TIPTO has achieved its objectives during the past year by laying solid foundations in informing agents about TIPTO members’ products and developments.

“We are committed to this as an on-going process which we aim to improve upon by creating new initiatives which agents find both fun and informative.

“With Gillian’s input we will be able to maximise the benefits TIPTO can offer to members in terms of their sales,” he said.
