Cruising guild to take active industry role
THE GUILD of Professional Cruise Agents has announced plans to take a more high profile, commercially active role in the cruising industry.
The group, which set up its own office in Basingstoke last May, also aims to expand its membership from 58 to 100 over the next year.
New chairman Kevin Griffin, who owns The Cruise People in London, said: “We want to work with cruiselines to expand the cruise market in the UK but at the same time drive more business through members’ outlets.”
Griffin has been acting chairman since Paul Mundy stepped down when he sold his agency in August last year.
Mundy, who founded the organisation, is now honorary chairman.
