Marshall ‘confident’ of Concorde’s future
BRITISH Airways chairman Lord Marshall has insisted Concorde is safe and fully expects it to resume flying.
Speaking ahead of talks between the airlines, manufacturers and regulators this week, Lord Marshall said he was confident the supersonic jet will return following July’s tragedy. “We are confident we will get it back in the air but we don’t know when and that’s the problem,” he said.
“We need to agree on what changes the regulators require and how the manufacturers will implement these changes,” he added. “We then need to look at how long it will take and how much it will cost.” He said pilots and BA engineers are “convinced Concorde is safe.”
