Stena Line to cut Holyhead-Dublin journey time

Report by John Lavabre

STENA LINE will cut the journey time on its Holyhead to
Dublin route with the introduction of a new freight and passenger ship.

Stena Forwarder will come into service in spring 2001 and will
replace Stena Challenger.

Capable of a speed of 24 knots, Forwarder will cut the
journey time by up to 45 minutes to three hours. Forwarder can accommodate 1,000
passengers, double that of Challenger, and has capacity for 100 cars.

Operating in conjunction the HSS Stena Explorer, the two
vessels will offer up to 12 sailings a day between Holyhead and Dun
Laoghaire/Dublin.
