New aims for Europe as firms merge

Two of the Caribbean’s leading hotel representation companies have merged their respective businesses.

Advantage Leisure and Group Promotions have agreed a name for the newly created company but have not yet gone public with it at the time of going to press.

The Advantage Leisure name will now only be used to represent the company’s car rental accounts.

Hugh Cuell, who was Advantage Leisure’s managing director, has now become the new chief executive while Group Promotions managing director Tom McNamara will take on the role of managing director for the new company.

Cuell commented: “Our combined group of select quality resorts will now benefit from having a one-stop, full-service sales and marketing company to enable them to penetrate the European market even further.”

Properties represented by the newly merged company include the Casa de Campo resort in the Dominican Republic, Club Jamaica, Couples Resorts and FDR Resort in Jamaica, the Nassau Paradise Island Promotion Board and the Caribbean Hotel Association.
