JMC checks ferry safety

JMC Holidays has conducted safety checks on Greek ferries following the sinking of two vessels earlier this month.

JMC deputy managing director Terry Williamson said: “Greek authorities have conducted stringent checks on all ferries in operation – as a result a number have been withdrawn.

“JMC has also carried out certification checks on the ferries operated to its resorts.”

The tragedies have prompted Airtours to cancel its Greek-operated Zeus yacht while Greek operator Argo is urging clients to use hydrofoils and catamarans instead of ferries.
