Tibet tourist board to make first appearance at WTM

CHINA will throw the spotlight on Tibet for the first time at World Travel Market this year.

Representatives from the Tibet regional tourist board are expected to join Chinese representatives on the China National Tourist Office stand.

CNTO UK marketing manager Mu Li said: “We will be promoting Tibet this year for the first time, along with the rest of China. We also hope to have representatives from three other regional tourist boards.”

There will be 12 exhibitors in total on the China stand, including four hotels and three ground handlers. Air China will join forces with the CNTO in an attempt to raise its profile.

The carrier will be promoting its new four-times-a-week service from Beijing to Auckland, New Zealand that connects with its three times a week non-stop flights from Heathrow to Beijing.

The China stand, in the shape of a traditional Chinese temple, has been moved to a more prominent location on the first floor of Earl’s Court, close to the main entrance. It has also increased by 20sq metres.
