Thailand drive targets weddings market rise

WEDDINGS
and honeymoon couples and females travelling on their own will be the focus of
a new Thailand advertising campaign for next year.

Tourism
Authority for Thailand marketing and public relations manager, UK and Ireland,
Chris Lee, said he is keen to focus on women as they are the decision-makers
when it comes to choosing a holiday and also because young males dominate the
single-traveller market to Thailand.

He added
that the new campaign, ‘So much to smile about’ is part of a £510,000 UK
promotion planned for the next 12 months to draw attention to the hospitality
of the Thai people.

He said:
“For the past three years we have tied to educate the trade and consumers that
Thailand has wonderful beaches, food, shopping, history and a unique culture.
Now we need to focus on other parts of the Thai experience.
