Chandris looks to open floating hotel

CRUISE company Chandris is waiting for the go-ahead from London Borough of Tower Hamlets to turn one of its ships, Amerikanas, into a floating hotel.

The hotel will be based in London’s Docklands near West India Dock. Development company Chrome Castle, which is behind the project, hopes to have the hotel open by autumn 2002. The interior will be rebuilt for 250 cabins, 33 suites and three restaurants.
