The new operation, Travelbargains, will sell mass-market destinations
including Greece, Spain and Florida on Teletext. The company will begin trading
next month from a call centre in Guildford, Surrey.
Brooks,
who resigned from Virgin.com/travel six weeks ago, has poached former
colleague, sales director John Kent, to join him at Travelbargains.
He has
yet to sign up any of the major operators, but Brooks claims many of them will
be on board by January. He added that he intends to expand the operation to
sell flights in the future.
