PARIS is still tops with the UK market, according to Crystal Holidays.
The French capital was the most popular short-break destination for the operator in 1999 followed by Amsterdam, Barcelona and New York.
Salzburg went straight in at number 15 with Berlin the highest climber from 18 to number 11.
Product director Alan Betty said increasingly, less well known cities are beginning to nudge their way into the top 20 – including Reykjavik which comes in at 19. “This has given us the impetus to add new and unusual destinations for 2000 such as Bordeaux, Malaga and Casablanca,” he said.
