Jobs go in Thomas Cook shake-up

THOMAS Cook has axed jobs following the restructuring of its retail division
under new distribution managing director Andrew Windsor.

At least 20 roles have disappeared from the retail and dot-com businesses,
including two at director level. A third director is expected to leave, while
other senior managers are said to be considering their futures.

Windsor said: “Thomascook.com was set up as a stand-alone business and
had separate departments from the retail business. They have now been brought
together which has led to a degree of overlap and a number of job losses.”

Under the restructure, Manny Fontenla-Novoa retains the role of retail
managing director and becomes deputy to Windsor.

Former strategy director Keith Strong takes on the newly created role of
managingdirector for call centres ande-commerce, while Kevin Styles becomes
distribution marketing director.

Richard Price has been appointed distribution finance director, having held
the same role for thomascook.com.

For legal reasons, Windsor declined to name the two directors who have lost
their jobs.
