Expansion plans
Leading the way in regional expansion are EasyJet and Go, which are hoping to repeat their successes at Luton and Stansted Airports elsewhere in the UK.
Of particular interest will be Go’s new flights from Bristol to eight Mediterranean destinations.
On May 22 it will launch flights to Nice, Faro and Palma, followed by services to Alicante, Malaga, Ibiza, Barcelona and Rome later in the summer. The flights are expected to lead to a 50% increase in traffic at Bristol.
Go’s decision to base two aircraft at the airportdemonstrates its level of commitment to the southwest. The airline hopes to add two more aircraft over the next year.
EasyJet has shown asimilar commitment to the northwest, having signed an agreement with LiverpoolAirport guaranteeing flights for the next 20 years.
