FIRST Choice wants to sell 20% of holidays over the Internet
and through digital television within two years after signing a deal with Sky
Digital’s interactive channel Open.
The deal means the operator has become the first in the UK
to offer fully bookable product through digital television.
Currently, only flights can be booked on Open, but
ultimately First Choice is looking at providing all holidays through the
medium. It plans to have late-availability product by the end of the year, with
brochured holidays bookable in early 2002.
