n NYCVB reduces entry fees to city attractions



New York Convention and Visitors Bureau is behind a new initiative to give cut-price entry into the city’s attractions. Until February 29, hotels, restaurants, stores, museums, Broadway theatres and other attractions will give savings to visitors who present a special Paint the Town Red guide and pay with their American Express card. n manchester starts culture city promotion



Manchester is promoting itself as one of Europe’s most cultured cities in a £250,000 ‘Cultural Short Breaks’ campaign. The campaign will promote the city’s galleries, museums, theatres, concert halls, restaurants and hotels. A further £500m is to be spent on redevelopment in the city.



n WTB launches view of wales brochure



The Wales Tourist Board has published its main holiday brochure for the UK market, called A View of Wales. Two different covers have been designed: one aimed at families and one at couples and singles.
